π Ingredients:
For the base:

1 bag (26 oz) frozen French fries (steak fries, crinkle, or shoestring β your choice)

Salt, to taste
For the steak topping:

1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak (or shaved beef)

1 Tbsp oil or butter
-
1 small onion, thinly sliced
-
1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Β½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
For the cheese sauce:

2 Tbsp butter
-
2 Tbsp flour
-
1 cup milk (whole or 2% preferred)
-
1Β½ cups shredded provolone cheese (or use a mix of provolone and mozzarella)

Salt and pepper, to taste
π₯ Instructions:
1. Bake the fries

Cook fries according to the package instructions until crispy and golden.

Season lightly with salt after baking.
2. Cook the steak
-
Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sliced onions (and peppers, if using); cook until soft and lightly browned.

Push veggies to one side of the pan; add shaved steak to the other side.

Cook steak until browned and cooked through (about 4β5 minutes), mixing everything together at the end.

Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if desired. Remove from heat.
3. Make the cheese sauce

In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Cook until thickened (about 2β3 minutes), then stir in shredded cheese.

Remove from heat once melted and smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4. Assemble

Place cooked fries on a serving platter or baking sheet.

Top with the steak and onion mixture.

Drizzle generously with warm cheese sauce.
5. Serve immediately
