1. Prep oven & pan:

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Mix dry ingredients:

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne.
3. Cut in butter:

Add cold butter cubes. Use a pastry cutter or fingers to work it in until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Add cheese:

Stir in shredded cheddar until evenly distributed.
5. Add buttermilk:

Pour in the cold buttermilk and stir just until a sticky dough forms. Don’t overmix.
6. Form biscuits:
