🧀 Cheese on French Stick Toast
Ingredients:

1 French baguette (French stick)

1–2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

1 garlic clove (optional, for rubbing)

1–2 cups grated cheese (e.g., cheddar, mozzarella, gruyère, or a mix)

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional toppings: chopped herbs (parsley, thyme), sliced tomatoes, caramelized onions, chili flakes
Instructions:

Preheat oven:

Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Slice the baguette:

Cut the French stick into slices about ½ inch thick, either straight or on a slight diagonal.

Toast the bread:

Place the slices on a baking tray. Brush lightly with olive oil or butter on one side.

Toast in the oven for about 5–7 minutes, or until lightly golden. Optional: Rub each slice with a cut garlic clove for extra flavor after toasting.

Add cheese:

Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on each toast slice. Add a little pepper or other toppings if desired.

Melt and brown:

Return to the oven and bake for another 5–8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For extra browning, broil for the last 1–2 minutes (watch carefully!).
