🍰 Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake
📝 Ingredients
For the cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs
-
1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt

2 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 cup mini or regular chocolate chips
For the streusel topping:

⅓ cup brown sugar, packed
-
1 tsp cinnamon
-
2 Tbsp flour
-
2 Tbsp butter, cold and cubed

¼ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×9-inch pan (or 8×8 for a thicker cake).

Make the streusel:
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Stir in extra chocolate chips if using. Set aside. -
Make the batter:

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream and vanilla.

Gradually stir in dry ingredients until just combined.

Fold in chocolate chips.

Assemble the cake:

Spread half the batter into the prepared pan.

Sprinkle half the streusel topping over it.

Spread the remaining batter on top, then finish with the rest of the streusel.

Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool slightly before serving. Great warm or at room temperature.
