Ingredients:
-
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
-
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
-
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
-
2 large eggs
-
2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
-
Mix dry ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
-
Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy. This will take about 2-3 minutes.
-
Add eggs and vanilla: Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Combine with dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
-
Fold in chocolate chips: Stir in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
-
Scoop dough: Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
-
Bake: Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are set but still soft.
-
Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
