Savory Sausage & Cream Cheese Crescent Bites
Ingredients:
-
1 (8 oz) package refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
-
1/2 lb ground breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
-
4 oz cream cheese, softened
-
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra cheesiness)
-
1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
-
1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)
-
Salt & pepper to taste
-
1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
Instructions:
-
Preheat Oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Cook the Sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease. -
Mix Filling:
In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy. -
Prepare Crescent Dough:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Cut each triangle in half lengthwise (so you get 16 smaller triangles). -
Fill and Roll:
Place about 1 teaspoon of sausage filling on the wide end of each dough triangle. Roll it up towards the point, like a mini crescent roll. -
Optional – Egg Wash:
Beat the egg and lightly brush over the tops of the bites for a golden finish. -
Bake:
Place the bites on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown. -
Serve:
Let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with ranch dressing, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
